Kanye West House Malibu Location

Located directly on Malibu Road, this residence sits an eighteen-mile drive from Santa Monica along the Pacific Coast Highway. Rising in raw concrete from the sand, it skips gates for direct beach access, in a private, exclusive enclave prized by celebrities and financiers alike

My Visit to the Kanye West House Malibu

As Todd Lynch from Urbansfreaks, I’ve explored many remarkable celebrity homes, but visiting Kanye West’s Malibu property felt completely different. A connection in the architecture world arranged access, and I drove along Pacific Coast Highway on a grey, foggy morning.

The three-story concrete structure immediately stood out as a rare Tadao Ando creation, with its bold geometry and dramatic relationship to the Pacific. Even stripped of its former windows and interiors, the architecture retained a powerful presence. Walking around the property, I could still appreciate the precision, simplicity, and extraordinary vision behind one of Malibu’s most talked-about homes.

Inside Kanye West House: Interior and other features

Miley’s Malibu interior features a grand two-story entrance with a curved wrought-iron staircase and a chef’s kitchen equipped with granite countertops and smart-home technology. The estate’s crown jewel is the master suite with a private oceanfront veranda, complemented by a signature bold glam room and seven spa-inspired marble bathrooms.

Entrance

Stepping inside the Kanye West House , the compact foyer immediately contrasts with the heavy exterior through its dramatic verticality. Tadao Ando’s signature precision is evident as natural light enters through strategic openings in shafts rather than floods.

Smooth, muted grey limestone floors provide a cool, tactile transition that complements the rising concrete walls. Despite the 4,000-square-foot footprint, the generous ceiling heights create an expansive atmosphere of calm authority, signaling a deeply considered architectural masterpiece where every angle serves a purpose.

Living Room

The middle level houses the living room, serving as the home’s social heart. This open-plan space features a linear layout that draws the eye directly toward the Pacific Ocean through floor-to-ceiling glass. Similar to the expansive, open feel found in a high-end Lil Boosie house, the original decor balanced raw concrete with soft, minimalist textures to maintain warmth.

Void of visual clutter or unnecessary partitions, the room feels like it is floating above the water. The shifting natural light—sharp at dawn and golden at dusk—transforms the atmosphere throughout the day.

Kitchen

The kitchen embodies functional minimalism at Kanye West House , featuring stainless-steel surfaces and flush, handleless cabinetry characteristic of Marmol Radziner’s interior work. Integrated appliances and concealed storage eliminate visual noise, allowing the workspace to disappear when not in use.

The stone or concrete-finish countertops maintain a visual connection to the broader interior palette. Designed as a high-functioning station rather than a showroom, the kitchen transitions naturally into the dining space, though these original details were removed during later renovations.

Master Bedroom

Occupying the entire top floor, the master suite is a private penthouse retreat perched above the ocean at Kanye West House . This elevated sanctuary features expansive glass walls that offer an uninterrupted 360-degree panorama of the Malibu coastline and Santa Monica Mountains.

The design remains consistent with the lower levels, utilizing concrete and limestone to ground the space. A private rooftop terrace serves as the suite’s crown, providing a spectacular outdoor experience that justifies the property’s significant prestige and connection to the horizon.

Bathroom

The five bathrooms at Kanye West House , led by the spa-quality master suite, focus on minimalist precision over decorative flair. Featuring deep soaking tubs, rainfall showers, and polished concrete vanities, the spaces utilize a monochromatic palette of stone and steel.

Soft, architectural lighting complements the natural light, creating a serene, hotel-like atmosphere. Even the guest ensuites on the lower floor follow this rigorous design language, proving that luxury is found in the quality of materials and the control of light.

Outdoor Living Spaces

The outdoor areas are defined by their direct relationship with the Pacific at Kanye West House . A network of concrete terraces and staircases links the three levels, with the lowest deck opening nearly onto the sand. Eschewing traditional amenities like swimming pools or lush gardens, Ando allowed the ocean to serve as the primary water feature.

The 1,500 square feet of exterior space acts as a raw architectural extension of the interior, offering an unfiltered, breathtaking connection to the California coastline.

Home History

Commissioned by Richard Sachs in 2007, this Tadao Ando masterpiece was completed in 2013 using 1,400 tons of steel and concrete. Kanye West purchased it for $57.3 million in 2021 but gutted the interior entirely. After falling into ruin, Belwood Investments bought the shell for $21 million in 2024, launching a restoration to return the home to its original glory.

Additional Properties of Kanye West House Around the world

Beyond his well-known California residences, Kanye West’s global portfolio has featured expansive ranches in Wyoming, a minimalist apartment in Belgium, and a sprawling 4,000-acre estate in his hometown of Chicago.

Kanye West House Chicago — Childhood Home

In 2018, Kanye bought back his childhood home in South Shore, Chicago for $225,000 — 15 years after his mother Donda sold it. The 1905-built house has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom.

He renovated the exterior with a light blue facade, new windows, a new roof, and an iron gate reading DH — Donda’s House. As of late 2025, he has reportedly fallen behind on $1,514 in property taxes.

Kanye West House Wyoming

Kanye owned two Wyoming ranches. Monster Lake Ranch — renamed West Lake Ranch — was a 4,000-acre property near Cody, bought in 2019 for $14 million. It had two freshwater lakes, go-cart tracks, and mountain views.

He listed it for $11-12 million in 2021. His second ranch, Bighorn Mountain Ranch, covered 6,713 acres and cost $14.5 million. It included two helicopter pads and sweeping canyon views. He has since sold Bighorn back to the Flitner family.

Kanye West House Calabasas

Kanye and Kim Kardashian bought their Hidden Hills, Calabasas home in 2014 for $20 million, then spent another $20 million on renovations with Belgian designer Axel Vervoordt. The 15,000 sq ft home has 8 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, and two kitchens — described as a futuristic monastery.

The all-white interior features cream carpets, minimalist fireplaces, and custom furniture. Kim still lives there with their four children. Current value is approximately $60 million.

Kanye West House Beverly Hills

In October 2024, Kanye bought a $35 million mansion in North Beverly Park — one of LA’s most exclusive gated communities. Designed by architect Richard Landry, the home spans 20,000 sq ft with 11 bedrooms, 18 bathrooms, two swimming pools, and a full spa.

The Mediterranean-style property sits among neighbours like Denzel Washington and Sofia Vergara. Kanye purchased it through an LLC in a private off-market deal.

How Much Is Kanye West House Worth?

KKanye West’s $57.3 million purchase reflected an extraordinary $14,325 per square foot, driven by the extreme rarity of Tadao Ando’s American designs. After stripping the home, West sold the shell to Belwood Investments for $21 million—a $36.3 million loss.

With restoration set for 2026, the property is expected to list up to $65 million, leveraging the massive market premium Ando’s pedigree commands over standard Malibu beachfront estates.

Where Does Kayne West Live Now?

Following the sale of his Malibu property, Kanye West and his wife, Bianca Censori, have adopted a more transient and surprisingly modest lifestyle compared to his previous real estate ventures.

As of early 2026, reports indicate they are primarily residing in a luxury penthouse apartment in West Hollywood, which they rent for approximately $20,000 per month. This move represents a shift toward a “minimalist bunker” lifestyle, emphasizing privacy and mobility over permanent ownership, while he continues to travel globally for his stadium performances and ongoing fashion projects.

Final Thoughts

Kanye West’s house journey is a singular chapter in architecture. Buying a Tadao Ando masterpiece, he stripped its 1,200 tons of concrete, incurring a $36.3 million loss.
